A Grim Ending for Potter?

I've been growing increasingly dissappointed with every Harry Potter book that came out since after Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. But it seems that the yet untitled seventh and final book of the Potter saga would be a tad interesting.

According to The Guardian Unlimited, J.K. Rowling (pronounced "Rolling") gave a quite revealing interview to teatime chat hosts Richard and Judy (which I suppose translates to The 9am Show and Mornings with Kerry Anne here in Australia?).

She says that there's a big possibility that the much loved and hated Harry Potter would die in the final book.

Hoorah then. According to the 5th book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, only either Harry or Voldemort can die. Because if Harry dies in the 7th book, would that mean Voldie lives?

Muggles rejoice then: This looks like a promising sequel as Lord Voldemort and the Aftermath of Harry Potter.

Meanwhile, according to this source, at least two characters would die. If she kills Harry to prevent future books being written about Potter in the name of another author, who else would she kill? Ginny?

My bet is on either Ron or Hermione to kick the bucket. She can't kill off Harry can she? I will be genuinely surprised if she does -- which I guess would be a good thing. The last book especially was a bit yawn-yawn, like the only reason for it's existence was to build up to the yet-to-be-released 7th book.

Well... technically she can because she's the author. If she doesn't want anybody continuing the series and making money for themselves I think she'll chuck an Agatha Christie and kill Harry.

And I agree about the last book. I thought it was too much ado about nothing and the only interesting bit was when D-man died. And the romance bits? I thought that was just weird.

hmm... I'm more inclined to agree with Jon in that i think if she does actually plan to kill off 2 characters to prevent other books being written, wouldn't Ron or Hermione make more sense seeing as they are central characters?

I haven't read many of the books, but after watching the movies, I'm all for Ron dying.

Maybe Rowling wants to end the series... I'd be sick of writing for it by now...

I don't think she ever intended to write any more than 7 books -- one for every year at Hoggwarts. Anyway, she is so rich now (2nd richest womain in the UK after the queen!) that she can just write really obscure self-indulgent novels which no-one will read, for the rest of her life.

Jon: She plans to write a sort of HP encyclopedia after the series ends. She's also planning to write books for younger children in a pseudonym. Maybe to see if people would buy her books for their content and not for their author. Kudos to Wikipedia for this info.

Cibbuano: omg... thanks! Yeah, I'd love to write obscure self-indulgent novels too without worrying about whether it would sell or not.

I'm gonna be really sad when the Harry Potter series is over

I can't decide whether I want Harry to live or die...if he dies, I think the other person to die will be Hagrid. If Harry lives, I predict that Snape is actually good and he'll die along with Hagrid. Actually I think Snape's good either way and that Dd told Snape to kill him for the sake of the greater good

Umm.. I pick Ron to die because that's the job of any loyal sidekick... unless he rebels to the 'dark side'? Then he can turn good again at the last minute and still die. Either way.

OH GOSH I WISH SHE WOULD'NT KILL OFF ANYONE ,HASNT SHE MADE ENOUGH MONEY TO SAY......''HEY I WANT A PERCENTAGE IF SOMEONE IS GOING TO CARRY ON WRITTING THIS STORY''.................................I THINK THAT THIS IS A WONDERFULL EXPERIENCE FOR ANYONE TO READ THE HARRY POTTER BOOKS I TS A CHANGE FROM REALITY WHICH CAN BE VERY MORBID AT TIMES.

I don't think she will kill off Ron because that would be too obvious. I think Harry will die and Ron will get revenge against voldemort.

hey hey quit tripping yall think about it, it's not that she doesn't want anyone else makeing money of her books....she doesn't want to have to continue the books by popular demand.....so there for i think harry and voldemort are gone...but thats just me

And the romance was not B.S. ..... !
Seriously, I can understand the fifth book ending with a death. (It had to happen sometime.) But I can't believe that dumbledore is dead!
What's wrong with J.K.Rowling? She has enough money. She shouldn't ruin the whole series just because she is mad. I wouldn't read any Harry Potter books that weren't by her.
And by the way, I think Snape should end up killing someone like really close to Harry like Mrs. Weasly then Harry will try to kill Vol. but Vol. will commit suicide.

She's definitely going ot kill off Harry because i believe that he is the last piece to killing voldemort, and in killing voldemort, harry himself must be die.

Your text goes here Harry will die but take voldemort with him. It will be the perfect mix of sacrifice, bravery, and peace will return to the wizarding world. If another is going to die, it'll be snape because he would probably really care for him and protect him. It won't be a secondary character like giny or someone because that wouldn't bring the vengeance. that is my comment. PEACE!
